Berlin/Germany 4th September 2014: eagleyard Photonics, a leading supplier of high-power laser diodes offers a single-emitter laser diode with an optical output power up to 16 Watt

The new 16 Watt Broad Area Laser (BAL) complements the successfully established high power product line offered by eagleyard. A compact design containing an integrated fast and slow axis collimation makes this laser diode perfectly suited for challenging fiber coupling applications. The 16 Watt BAL-1064 is especially used for medical handheld applications as well as for material treatment.

With 16 Watt cw power out of a single emitter comprising a width of 200 μm, system design engineers have new options for achieving extremely small footprint solutions for their application.

"We are continuously striving to improve and conform our high quality products – especially for sensitive medical applications.“ says Michael Kneier, VP Sales and Marketing at eagleyard Photonics. „The medical sector is a very extensive and fragmented field, guided by multiple requirements from various end customers. This requires a flexible product platform driven by continuous innovation and progress.“ explains Kneier furthermore. “As a result we serve this market with a wavelength offering 670 nm up to 1064 nm.”

About eagleyard:
eagleyard Photonics’ core competence is the development, production and sale of innovative high-power laser diodes based on GaAs (Gallium Arsenide). Its portfolio contains laser diodes with wavelengths ranging from 633 nm to 1,120 nm (DFB-lasers, tapered lasers, ridge waveguide lasers and broad area lasers). These laser diodes are addressing a variety of applications such as aerospace and defense, spectroscopy, medical instrumentation, test & measurement and material analysis. eagleyard is represented worldwide, particulary in Europe, Asia and the United States of America. eagleyard Photonics started as a spin-off from the Ferdinand-Braun Institut (FBH) in 2002 and belongs since January 2013 to the Toptica Group.
